It's Time for Summer!

Dear NUSD Community,

We hope this last week of school has gone well for your students and your family. Promotions, graduations and celebrations have been a wonderful way to mark the passage of time. We wish you all a wonderful summer! As we exit from one school year to the next, we offer a few resources that might support your family before we see each other again in August.

The First Day of School is Thursday, August 21st.

Immigration Resources

As we head into summer, we recognize the ongoing fear, anxiety and uncertainty among our student and family immigrant community. We are also mindful of recent new reports regarding immigration enforcement activity throughout California. NUSD will continue to partner with community agencies to keep us informed of potential activity that may impact our students and families. NUSD is proud to serve a diverse community, and we are fully committed to the safety, dignity and privacy of all students and families, regardless of immigration status.

  • Crisis Text Line https://marinprevention.org/in-crisis-text-marin-to-741741/ Text “MARIN” to 741741 The Crisis Text Line offers free, 24/7, confidential crisis counseling via text and is a great place to turn when experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, suicidal ideation, or anything in between.
  • Know the Signs https://www.suicideispreventable.org/ Know the Signs is a statewide suicide prevention social marketing campaign built on three key messages: Know the signs. Find the words. Reach out. This campaign is intended to educate Californians how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, how to find the words to have a direct conversation with someone in crisis and where to find professional help and resources.
